Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services Pty Ltd (Goldfields) operates 10,000 queen rearing hives to meet the needs of domestic and international beekeepers requirements for queen bees.
Products produced from bees (honey, beeswax, pollen, propolis and pollination services) cannot be produced unless each beehive has young well bred queens. Goldfields Apiaries engages the services of an entomologist and specialised team of queen breeders to produce high quality queen bees.
Goldfields exports queens to many parts of the world and work closely with the Department of Primary Industries and Australian Quarantine Services to meet all requirements.

Goldfields has been exporting package bees for many years and are an industry leader in this field in Australia.
Package bees exported consist of three to four pound of bees with one or two queen bees in each package.
A shipment consists of approx. 400 packages which are airfreighted to countries such as Canada, Malaysia and USA.

Goldfields have its own cool room facility to ensure that the bees are kept at an optimum temperature at all stages of the procedure.
The process is called shaking bees and the bees are shaken from beehives that have passed all government and
quarantine requirements.
